Rabbit Shedding More Than Usual

Rabbit appears to be shedding, noticed today fairly large patch of hair missing from under neck area, have had rabbit around a year. eating and drinking well, bowels and bladder appear to be working a . Rabbits will shed in different ways. some rabbits will take a couple of weeks or more to loose their old coat of fur. other rabbits will be ready to get rid of their old coats all in one day and these rabbits are the ones that cannot be neglected once they start shedding.. They dont need regular grooming (as rabbits tend to groom themselves), however should you find that your rabbit is shedding more than usual, the occasional grooming with a slicker brush should eliminate most of those pesky stray hairs..

Should you find that your rabbit is shedding more than usual, this may be due to the time of the year (shedding season). if you wish to brush your rabbit during this time so there is less fur in the house, use a bristled brush and stroke in the natural direction of its fur.. Therefore domestic rabbits seem to have a more variable moulting pattern. some rabbits and especially house rabbits will appear to moult almost constantly! when rabbits moult, they typically start by shedding fur from their head, which spreads down the neck and back and then down the sides of their body, finishing on their rump.. The average normal water intake for rabbits is 50-150 ml/kg body weight daily. this is the general expectation of water consumption, since rabbits that are fed large amounts of water-containing foods, such as leafy vegetables, will drink less water than those that are on a dry diet of hay and pellets..
